Thunderstorms rule

I woke up maybe 15 minutes ago to a loud rumble that sounded like someone putting their trash cans away, or something along those lines. I thought nothing of it until I realized it was raining pretty hard and I actually saw the flash of lightning.

So right now, it’s like 42 degrees out and flashing lightning every 2 minutes or so. Neat.

K, gonna go lay back down.

WOO WOO RAIN!

Okay … it’s pouring down pretty hard right now and the wind is blowing around like crazy. I love it when we get weather! The only other thing I could hope for is some thunder and lightning and I would be set. Heh … okay, off to bed with me.

WHAT IS THIS?!

What is with this weather?! It’s almost freakin 9:00PM and it’s still 80 degrees outside. I mean, thank God for A/C, but even then it’s still not all THAT cool here. Sheesh.

Anyway … today is my mom’s birthday. My brother and his GF came up yesterday for dinner. And while they were here, my brother helped my dad and I install my mom’s birthday present; a new surround sound system and 5-disc DVD changer. It was quite fun, and the end result is pretty sweet. It can get pretty damn loud downstairs now. Hehe, we’re lovin it. One of the best surround sound test movies is Star Wars II, at the beginning with the speeder chase. OOOOH man is it sweet.

Then tonight we went out to Carvers for dinner. I got a nice New York steak. I’m still really full.

My ears have quit ringing, but I still look back and think what an AWESOME concert it was. Man, so good.

Okay, that’s about it. You’re up to speed. =o)

I Love this Weather

Man I love this weather. Just something about the cool air and the early darkness just makes me feel all cozy and nice. That is all for this one.

The Weather Sucked

Today Brian, Courtney, Erica, and I went to the beach, but it wasn’t the best it could have been. The weather was rather crappy, none of us brought sports equipment to play games, and it just didn’t really seem that “wahoo”. We all left like an hour after getting there. The fun part though was when the three of them buried me and sculpted a mermaid body around me.

So yah, we left and Erica and I took showers (seperately) and then just hung out for a while at her house. Her dad just bought a wireless network today, so I was helping him set that up and get it running. It was funny because her dad was acting just like I would if I had just bought one. He was all excited and happy about the fact that he could take his laptop anywhere around the house.

We ate dinner and then went to go see one of Erica’s friends in her drama group’s presentation of Grease. It was good, a little different, and quite a few technical difficulties. But overall it was enjoyable.

Afterwards we just hung out for a little bit at her house before I left to go feed my brother’s birds and fish while he and Jennifer are out of town.

As of now, I officially only use one cell phone. I decided to let the money on my Cingular account expire because really the only reason I had it was to text and call the yellows. But now that Cingular and Verizon can text each other, there’s no real need for me to keep the Cingular phone around. I might have considered dropping the Verizon phone, but first off I don’t want to pay a $150 Early Termination Fee to get out of my contract, and I’ve also had better experiences with the Verizon network. Mainly I never get “System Busy” unless I’m on analog mode. Plus not to mention I have internet on it, and I just got this phone like 2 1/2 months ago. It just made more sense not to keep the Cingular phone.

I’ll stop boring you with me rambling on and on about cell phones. Now I’ll talk about computers. Erica finally got fed up with never being able to use the ONE computer for the four of them in the family and always having to fight people and everything. So she went out and bought herself a new one from a local store called “Chips and Memory“. She got a pretty good deal on an AMD Athlon XP 1600+ 1.6GHz, 256MB RAM, 40GB HD, 24x/10x/40x CD Burner for only $329. It was a pretty sweet deal. She didn’t have to buy a monitor because we had 2 spare 15″ monitors taking up space around the house, so I just gave her one. Pretty good deal I must say. It works great and she’s loving the fact that it’s actually HERS.

Also, on a computer-related note, I’ve decided to change web server software to Apache. Now I’m sure none of you really care, but I just thought you might care to know. If any of you run into any problems with my site, PLEASE let me know so I can fix it. Also I plan on getting away from programming in ColdFusion and start working with Java. I’ll keep you updated in that wonderful trek =o)

NOW, you’re all up to date.
