Today Brian, Courtney, Erica, and I went to the beach, but it wasn’t the best it could have been. The weather was rather crappy, none of us brought sports equipment to play games, and it just didn’t really seem that “wahoo”. We all left like an hour after getting there. The fun part though was when the three of them buried me and sculpted a mermaid body around me.
So yah, we left and Erica and I took showers (seperately) and then just hung out for a while at her house. Her dad just bought a wireless network today, so I was helping him set that up and get it running. It was funny because her dad was acting just like I would if I had just bought one. He was all excited and happy about the fact that he could take his laptop anywhere around the house.
We ate dinner and then went to go see one of Erica’s friends in her drama group’s presentation of Grease. It was good, a little different, and quite a few technical difficulties. But overall it was enjoyable.
Afterwards we just hung out for a little bit at her house before I left to go feed my brother’s birds and fish while he and Jennifer are out of town.
As of now, I officially only use one cell phone. I decided to let the money on my Cingular account expire because really the only reason I had it was to text and call the yellows. But now that Cingular and Verizon can text each other, there’s no real need for me to keep the Cingular phone around. I might have considered dropping the Verizon phone, but first off I don’t want to pay a $150 Early Termination Fee to get out of my contract, and I’ve also had better experiences with the Verizon network. Mainly I never get “System Busy” unless I’m on analog mode. Plus not to mention I have internet on it, and I just got this phone like 2 1/2 months ago. It just made more sense not to keep the Cingular phone.
I’ll stop boring you with me rambling on and on about cell phones. Now I’ll talk about computers. Erica finally got fed up with never being able to use the ONE computer for the four of them in the family and always having to fight people and everything. So she went out and bought herself a new one from a local store called “Chips and Memory“. She got a pretty good deal on an AMD Athlon XP 1600+ 1.6GHz, 256MB RAM, 40GB HD, 24x/10x/40x CD Burner for only $329. It was a pretty sweet deal. She didn’t have to buy a monitor because we had 2 spare 15″ monitors taking up space around the house, so I just gave her one. Pretty good deal I must say. It works great and she’s loving the fact that it’s actually HERS.
Also, on a computer-related note, I’ve decided to change web server software to Apache. Now I’m sure none of you really care, but I just thought you might care to know. If any of you run into any problems with my site, PLEASE let me know so I can fix it. Also I plan on getting away from programming in ColdFusion and start working with Java. I’ll keep you updated in that wonderful trek =o)
NOW, you’re all up to date.
